About Codexve Assets

This site started from a specific frustration: there are plenty of free assets, but very few places tell you clearly whether you can sell the result, whether you must credit someone, and whether you can just download the file.

We only mirror what the license allows us to redistribute

Most free stock sites allow you to use an asset inside a finished product, but forbid redistributing the file itself or compiling it into a competing library. For those sources we keep metadata only and send you back to the original. Files hosted here come only from licenses that explicitly permit redistribution: CC0, CC BY, OFL, MIT, ISC and Apache-2.0.

How licenses are verified

  • Every source has a registered policy, an official license page and an ingestion timestamp;
  • Licenses are normalized to SPDX and stored with a snapshot taken on the day of ingestion;
  • Commercial use, attribution, modification and redistribution are recorded as four explicit fields;
  • When attribution is required, the credit is generated in HTML, Markdown and plain text following the license's requirements.

What we do not do

  • We do not scrape sites that forbid it, and we are not a full-web asset search engine;
  • We do not list assets under vague terms like “free for personal use” or “commercial license required”;
  • We do not offer VIP bypasses or paid-wall circumvention;
  • We do not promise AI-training rights — permission to use an asset is not permission to train on it, and those are marked separately.

Sources

We do not disclose source sites or list them in the catalogue. Each asset page shows only the license, the creator credit, a copyable credit line and a link to the official license text. That is a deliberate trade-off: prioritise licensing information over outbound traffic.

Takedowns and corrections

If a file should not be here, use the takedown page. We respond within 48 hours, keep the hash and removal record, and leave a clear notice at the original URL.
